Abstract. In the article the peculiarities of religious discourse in its media realization are revealed, the functions, dogmatic potential and ways of influence on an addressee in this type of discourse are identified. It is noted that it becomes widespread in mass media space for "servicing" the sphere where the synthesis of discursive thinking and religious consciousness is carried out. Special attention is paid to the specificity of language and to the most frequent communicative tactics and techniques.
