PRINCIPLES AND CRITERIA OF SELECTION OF COMICS FOR CROSS-CULTURAL EDUCATION

Abstract. In the article the principles of selection of comics for cross-cultural education are identified. The principle of academic-methodological appropriateness and the principle of didactic culture congruity are assumed as basis of singling out criteria of selection of comics. The author suggests and characterizes the following criteria: taking into account of addressee, value of a comic book in cultural studies, presence of background country-specific meanings in it (well-known in the environment of native speakers), availability of a plot, situational and thematic relevance.
