Abstract. The article investigates the methods for representation of plentiful supply of food in the mythological tales of coastal Koryaks. The Koryak narrative tradition is characterized by the simplification of episodes, deletion of the formerly important features of national cuisine. At the same time the modern storytellers consider the knowledge about the traditional Koryak meals as meaningful, reliable information about the ancient time of their ancestors and for this reason they tend to actualize it in the folkloric texts in accordance to their life experience and knowledge of tradition.
