Abstract. The article presents linguo-methodological description of the new Russian language textbook for the foreign first- and second-year-students on Humanities, and also for the foreigners who studied in the homeland and prepare to enter the MA course or post-graduate course in the Russian higher schools. The authors pay special attention to the goals of the textbook, type of description of the didactic material, methods for solving the communicative and professional tasks, adoption of strategies and tactics in the various spheres of communication.
