ATMOSPHERIC PHENOMENON OF A THUNDERSTORM AS A SOURCE OF METAPHORICAL CONCEPTUALIZATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF RUSSIAN AND FRENCH LANGUAGES)

Abstract. The article examines the methods for representation of a concept "thunderstorm" at the level of phraseological units of the Russian and French languages. Within the framework of a phraseological paradigm the paper investigates the idiomatic expressions and phraseological units cognitive interpretation of which allows identifying the peripheral features of a concept usually actualized implicitly by the lexical means of the language. The authors pay special attention to the national and cultural specifics of a concept manifesting most distinctly in the choice of the features which become a foundation for the metaphorical reconsideration of the sensual atmospheric phenomenon.
