SEMIOTICS OF ORTHODOX HAGIOGRAPHICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. Semiotic-linguistic approach to the hagiographical discourse allows comprehending this phenomenon in a new way. The topicality of the article is in the following: firstly, the object of the study is little-investigated hagiographical discourse, secondly, the semiotic method to it is used for the first time. The semiotics of orthodox hagiographical discourse, which consists of syntactics, semantics and pragmatics, is described. The research is made by the material of the Old Russian hagiography of the XI-XVII centuries in the Church Slavonic language.
