FROM "ARABESQUES" TO "ST. PETERSBURG STORIES": ON THE PROBLEM OF THE EVOLUTION OF GOGOL'S NARRATION

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of the evolution of N. V. Gogol's narrative poetics in the works of the end of the 1830s - the beginning of the 1840s. The progress of Gogol's individual artistic system and the transformations of his narrative purposes are considered in the context of the process of realistic narration principles formation in Russian literature.
