Abstract. The article considers the philosophical prose of the national writer of Yakutia N. A. Luginov as a particular stage in his creative evolution. The paper emphasizes the intensification of the global universal perception in his philosophical stories "Stone Cape", "Black Raven Ballad", "Serge", "Kustuk". The researcher identified that extension of subject matter allowed the author to enlarge the spatio-temporal coordinates, to interpret the "eternal" problems of life and death, the meaning of a human life. Qualitative renovation of epic traditions is represented in the historical and philosophical novel "By the Will of Genghis Khan".
