Abstract. In the article the peculiarities of realization of technique of multilayer image creation to put a recipient of the inner monologue into the reflective position by the material of V. Woolf's novel "The Waves" are considered. The authors study the examples of reminiscence as a specific method of text construction of inner monologue which reflects the succession and wealth of cultural and historical tradition of the society.
