THE OLD RUSSIAN MOTIVES IN Y. ZAMYATIN’S NOVEL "WE"

Abstract. The article examines the images of two main female characters in Y. Zamyatin’s novel "We" - I-330 and O-90 - in the context of the Russian people’s ancient ethical-aesthetic views, that allows the author of the paper to discover the hidden moral-philosophical senses, supplementing and specifying the unusually vivid national picture of the world created by the writer, in which the standing alone novel "We" fits well.
