SEMASIOLOGY AND ETYMOLOGY: THE PROBLEMS OF LEXICAL MEANING RECONSTRUCTION

Abstract. In the article the benefit of interaction between semasiology and etymology in the investigation of lexical meaning of words is under study. The main tendencies of efficient scientific research of lexical phenomena by the representatives of the linguists of different generations are presented. The main obstacles of the process of lexical meaning reconstruction from the perspective of such representatives of the European linguistics as V. Pisani, ?. Benveniste, O. N. Trubachyov, V. V. Levitsky are considered.
