SITUATEDNESS IN PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AS A CONDITION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES OF STUDENTS IN NON-LINGUISTIC HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF INSTITUTE OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF TOMSK POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY)

Abstract. In the article the role of situatedness in professionally oriented teaching a foreign language in a non-linguistic higher education establishment as one of the most important conditions of the development of professional competences is analyzed. The most significant and topical competences are shown. The main kinds, functions and examples of situations used in the academic activity by the teachers of Institute of Natural Resources of Tomsk Polytechnic University are considered.
