THE TURKIC-LANGUAGE FOLKLORE AND LITERARY VERSIONS OF "BABAKHAN’S DASTAN" BY SAYYADY

Abstract. The article is devoted to one of the legends about Takhir and Zukhra widely spread among the Turkic-speaking peoples. The plot originated among the Turkic peoples in the Middle Ages existing in various versions among the Kazakh, Altay, Bashkir, Uzbek, Tatar, Nogay and other peoples. They describe the tragic fate of those in love separated by the will of their parents. The purpose of the article is to compare the plot and composition features of the literary versions of "Babakhan’s Dastan" (the end of the XIV - the beginning of the XV century) by Sayyady and "Kissa-i Takhir and Zukhra" (the second half of the XIX century) by Akhmet Urazaev Kurmashy.
