Abstract. The article is dedicated to the complex analysis of the conception of a human being in the novels by M. Elizarov. Such novels as "The Librarian", "Pasternak", "Cartoons" were chosen as examples. The author pays special attention to the confrontation of humanity (well-armed, by the way) and satanic forces, rather than a confrontation of human beings. The paper accentuates the characters, with their ambivalent conflict and desperate attempts to stand up for their ideas, but these ideas originate in low-grade conceptions of a poor Soviet writer. That’s why we can’t say that the characters choose their feats of vital concernment all by themselves, it is probably the influence of various artifacts enduring them with an implicit belief in the ongoing.
