EMOTIONAL AND EVALUATIVE SUFFIXES OF THE VENEZUELAN NATIONAL VERSION OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE: BASIC MEANINGS AND FEATURES OF FUNCTIONING

Abstract. The article considers the features of emotional and evaluative suffixation in the Venezuelan national version of the Spanish language. An overview of the most important works on this subject is given, and the main meanings of?? diminutive-hypocoristic, pejorative and extenuating suffixes, different from the Pyrenean Spanish language, as well as the examples of their functioning in the Venezuelan version are presented. In conclusion the linguistic and extralinguistic factors influencing the choice of emotional and evaluative suffix by the representatives of the Venezuelan national version are identified.
