ELIAS CANETTI’S "ANTHROPOLOGICAL ANIMALISM"

Abstract. The article considers the originality of the artistic world of the Austrian writer, Nobel Prize winner, Elias Canetti (1905-1994), who created unique "animalistic context" on the pages of the works of different genres. The author of the article adheres to the term "anthropological animalism", as Canetti researches human’s nature through animals’ images. It is noted that in Canetti’s creative works various manifestations of animalism are revealed. On the one hand, Canetti’s narration about animals has mythological character; animals’ figures can be attributed to the category of representative symbols. On the other hand, the writer refers to the animal world to illustrate modern society.
