GENRE ORIGINALITY OF AYN RAND’S NOVEL "ATLAS SHRUGGED" IN MASS LITERATURE CONTEXT

Abstract. In the article the components of different genres in Ayn Rand’s novel "Atlas Shrugged" are considered to identify the correlation of the novel with mass literature. During the analysis the genre features, which characterize the novel as a mass literature model, are revealed. At the same time genres traits indicating high literature are defined. The conclusion contains the substantiation of the genres features existence of mass literature as well as of high literature, their correlation is considered.
