EVOLUTION OF MYTHOLOGEME WATER IN TRANS-URAL OLD BELIEVERS’ LEGENDS ABOUT TARASII’S SPRING

Abstract. In the article the research subject is legends about Tarasii’s spring fixed in the confessionalian environment of Old Believers in South Trans-Urals. The motif of the adoration of water spring in regional narratives is considered as the local demonstration of the all-Russian tradition. The sources of water folklore-mythological symbolism in folklore works are studied. On the basis of the contrastive analysis of variants the representation of water ancient cult and the further development of the mythologeme in the legends of this theme group are ascertained.
