Abstract. The article reveals the influence of the ideas of constructivism on the creative work of I. Ehrenburg of the beginning of the 1920s. The research is carried out by the material of the publicistic articles, poetry and prose of the writer. In the pages of the book "And Yet It Moves" and in the articles of the magazine "Veshch" Ehrenburg stood for the negation of old art in its traditional forms, called to write about life and daily chores, proclaimed the kingdom of "machinery" and "thing". The novels and poetical works promoting, as it seems, the ideal of constructive art are marked with the internal uncertainty of the author in its suitability. The works reveal the failure of a "new style" of the epoch, its incompatibility with the reality.
