THEORY OF FORMING THE VOCABULARY OF THE RUSSIAN LITERARY LANGUAGE IN THE WORKS BY A. P. SUMAROKOV

Abstract. The article analyzes the linguistic views of A. P. Sumarokov on the principles of forming the vocabulary of Russian literary language. Relying on the conducted research the author concludes that the philologist distinguishes the following reasons (of philosophical, extra-linguistic and linguistic nature) for functioning of the words in the language: origin of new forms of social relations, availability of close contacts with other nations, as well as specifics of the system and structure of the language, original history of its development.
