Abstract. The article considers the question of the connection of literature with paintings and graphics in the lyrics of V. Bryusov. The analysis of intermedial connections is carried out by the material of the poem "The Dance of Death. The German Engraving of the XVI Century". In the course of the study the author reveals the main means of intermedial connections, and the levels of lyrical text structure, where interaction with the iconic source - the eponymous series of engravings by H. Holbein - is the closest and most important for the realization of the author’s intention.
