Abstract. The article considers the participation of toponymic component as part of a metaphor of movement. Metaphorical projection method allows identifying the models of metaphorical conceptualization of movement within which framework the toponym presents both the target sphere, and the source sphere. Metaphors with the toponym-target, as a rule, express movement within a toponymic object, while metaphors with the toponym-source denote either a variety of processes in terms of duration or the phase, the stage of movement.
