RED COLOUR IN RITUAL VOCABULARY OF THE KUBAN WEDDING TRADITION

Abstract. The article presents the ethno-linguistic study of lexemes representing red colour in the ritual vocabulary of the Kuban wedding. The basic symbolic meanings of red colour in the context of describing the wedding ranks, ritual actions and attributes of wedding ceremony in Kuban on the background of maternal and related ritual traditions are revealed. An interconnection of colour symbolism of the wedding ceremony with its flora, food and natural code is ascertained.
