UKRAINIAN CRISIS: IMAGE OF RUSSIA IN ENGLISH-LANGUAGE ELECTRONIC MEDIA

Abstract. The study is conducted in line with political media-linguistics and is devoted to the linguistic means of political stereotypes formation in the electronic media. The content analysis of the complex of publications from the English language site "The New York Times", covering the Ukrainian crisis (November 2013 - May 2014), is conducted. The detailed analysis of the lexical content of the publications for November 2013 is given. The linguistic means used to form stereotypes about Russia among English-speaking readers of the publication are described.
