ATTEMPT OF RECONSTRUCTING V. M. GARSHIN’S UNFINISHED PASSAGE "PAVEL PAVLOVICH’S DREAM"

Abstract. The article ascertains the reasons of text unfinished state and presents an attempt of reconstructing the creative potential of V. M. Garshin’s unfinished passage on the basis of lacunas, uncertainty places. The hero’s expected dream and the introduction of the description of the canvas (J. Matejko’s painting "Battle of Grunwald") are attributed to lacunas provoking certain receptive strategies. The development strategies of the projected images (Pavel Pavlovich, sir Brukh and baron Fernstahl), contradictions in their characters are built.
