DOMINANT MOTIVES OF THE PLAY BY O. BOGAYEV "DEAD EARS, OR A HISTORY OF TOILETTE PAPER"

Abstract. The article presents a survey of the basic motives of the play "Dead Ears, or a History of Toilette Paper" by the Russian dramatist, one of the representatives of the "new drama" Oleg Bogayev. The action of the play develops in the fantastic reality which perfectly satisfies the poetics of a drama of absurdity. The author emphasizes the motives of deafness, loneliness, doom and Apocalypse and concludes that these motives are dominant not only in the analyzed play but in all the works of the dramatist.
