ANALYSING THE METHODS OF USING COMPUTER-BASED LANGUAGE TESTING

Abstract. The article discusses the role of testing and computer in foreign language teaching, in securing the efficiency and reliability while assessing competence in this discipline of the non-linguistic students. The paper shows the advantages and disadvantages of using the distant form of testing, presents certain results of computer-based testing in the English language conducted at Siberian State Aerospace University. The authors justify the necessity for combining new and traditional methods of knowledge testing.
