Abstract. The article discloses the link between notions "edutainment" and "language barrier" and also by the practical example the recommendations for the language barrier break or decrease when foreign languages teaching due to edutainment methods application in educational process are given. The data about such events effectiveness, gathered by means of students’ questionnaire, are shown. The main attention is given to the analysis of practical application of edutainment at language specialties teaching according to new requirements of Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education (FSES HPE).
