Abstract. The article presents the comparative analysis of floral metaphors in the poetic works of R. Burns and their translations into the Russian language. This article is based on floral metaphor, as well as the art of "ikebana" and "floristry" of the ancient traditions of the East and West. It is believed that in the world culture there is an idea about the flower as a metaphor of innermost essence, through which the dominant metaphor of life is formed in the poetry of R. Burns.
