ARTISTIC IMAGE OF HISTORY AND METHODS OF ITS REPRESENTATION IN NOVEL "THE BRYNSKII FORREST" BY M. N. ZAGOSKIN

Abstract. Thanks to the works of recent years the interest of researchers to the genre of historical novel is reviving, which in many respects is now demanding the reconsideration of the analysis tools of historical prose specific texts. The task of the historical novel is not the retelling of major historical events, but the representation of those events and those people who participated in these events by means of the artistic image. The author undertakes the attempt to reveal these methods and their functions in the novel "The Brynskii Forest" by M. N. Zagoskin.
