Abstract. The author considers the problems of describing the modern toponymy of the South of Krasnoyarsk territory, which are not found unambiguous solutions in science, pays particular attention to the importance of the system scientific study of toponymy of the South of Krasnoyarsk territory, and suggests the methods by means of which the modern researches on the toponymy of this area can be conducted.
