SEMANTIC FUNCTION OF INDUSTRIAL-COMMERCIAL AND ADVERTISING DISCOURSE TRADEMARKS

Abstract. All trademarks perform certain pragmatic functions aimed at the implementation of commercial intent of their owners. The author considers the semantic function and its subfunction directed to the formation of positive judgment during the perception of one or another trademark, and shows the phonosemantic strategies implemented in the process of brand-naming.
