Abstract. The author considers the peculiarities of the Yakut language phraseological units functioning in the texts of periodicals, reveals that phraseological units as a form of sustainable verbal complexes are used in analytical texts, ascertains the specificity of these units occasional changes in the texts of local newspapers, and studies the tendency of using phraseological units in a changed state, rather than in an original form.
