Abstract. The author analyzes the story of Ufa talented writer Savel'ev "Chase, hold, bear and see", in which a young novelist connects the pictures of real and unreal world, the living and the dead, creates a paradoxical space where there is no any movement, and the time stops; in this regard determines the features of the plot and composition, the image system and the system of motives, the system of methods and biblical associations used by the novelist in the story, and reveals the ideological and aesthetic originality of this work of art.
