Abstract. The author considers the lexical forms of notions ???? and ????? in the texts of Septuagint, reveals their archaic Homeric background, shows their lexical-semantic transformations within the framework of Hellenistic Koine – a particular stage in the development of the ancient Greek language, and seeks to show the lexical representation of powerful emotional layers of anger and fury typical of the ancient Greek stage of biblical vocabulary.
