Abstract. The author discusses the features of the poetics of L. Tolstoi’s trilogy "Childhood", "Boyhood", "Youth" and M. Gor'kii’s trilogy "My Childhood", "In the World", "My Universities", studies the problem of artistic commonness in two works and the fundamental differences between their structural organization, and concludes that the subjective organization of the text in Tolstoi’s autobiography tends to monostructure, and in Gor'kii’s one – to two-in-one plot and narrative type.
