INTERCONNECTION OF COGNITIVE AND COMMUNICATIVE ASPECTS IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGE DISCOURSE

Abstract. The authors substantiate the cognitive-communicative approach to teaching a foreign language to nonlinguistic faculties students, describe the conditions that contribute to the optimization of students’ cognitive activity and the improvement of foreign language communication effectiveness in the process of mastering the professionally oriented discourse, and present the results of pilot study with the use of methodical system developed on the basis of project activity.
