ROLE OF HERO-LAYMAN IN INTERPRETING AUTHOR’S INTENTION OF V. O. PELEVIN

Abstract. The author considers the artistic features of Pelevin’s works main hero – the hero-layman, his impact on reader’s consciousness and the role in author’s intension interpretation, tells that the hero-layman is a spiritual copy of the reader, the starting point of further spiritual self-improvement, the key to understanding the philosophy of the writer, and pays particular attention to the philosophy of Zen Buddhism, which conceptual statements often "escape" from the attention of critics and researchers of V. O. Pelevin’s creative work.
