WORD STRESS AND ITS FUNCTIONAL SPHERE IN MODERN GREEK LANGUAGE

Abstract. The author reveals the nature and functional sphere of word stress in the modern Greek language, pays special attention to the functional sphere of word stress in the modern Greek language, which manifests itself primarily in the differentiation of both semantic and morphological structure of the word, and considering the phonetic features of word stress in the modern Greek language comes to the conclusion that the tone level, duration and intensity of word stress in the modern Greek language are not phonological features
