Abstract. The author considers the problem of using workshop report as a means of midterm examination on the discipline "Foreign Language" in nonlinguistic higher education establishment, pays particular attention to the development of students’ self-education skills, and describes the experience of foreign languages teachers ??at National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University teaching students to make workshop report in the form of poster presentation prepared by them.
