ASCERTAINMENT OF PREDICATE CONTEXTUAL MEANING AS PREREQUISITE FOR PRECISE DEFINITION OF ACTANTS’ SEMANTIC ROLES

Abstract. The author presents the attempt of propositional analysis application to actual newspaper texts, provides some explanations and suggestions for distinguishing predicates connotations, sets the task of identify some difficulties, with which a linguist analyzing the speech acts in their entirety may encounter, and in particular puts forward an assumption that in order to determine participants’ semantic roles it is necessary to ascertain the predicate precise meaning in the existing context.
