Abstract. The author by the example of the Ossetian literature prose translation traces the features and techniques of phraseological units utterance with distinct national specificity in the Russian language, basing on the comparative-contrast analysis of multilingual texts considers the phraseological and non-phraseological techniques of phraseological units translation, and undertakes the attempt to show practical patterns of phraseological units transition from one sign system to another.
