Abstract. The author discusses the problems of teaching a foreign language to nonlinguistic specialities students, tells about the necessity to use the modern methods of teaching and motivating factor, considers students’ speech activity as one of the conditions for foreign language successful acquirement, in this regard gives the interpretation of this notion, and presents the results of students’ survey with the purpose to reveal their understanding of this notion.
