Abstract. The author considers contemporary Italian poets’ poems devoted to Venice, and shows that the meeting with the city: its history, architecture, carnival, music, painting and literature – is the main event, receiving its completion in poetic lines, in intertextual interactions with other works that make up the "Venetian text" of the Italian lyrics.
