TWO EDITIONS OF O. E. MANDELSTAM’S POEM ABOUT ST. ISAAC’S CATHEDRAL: TEXTUAL CRITICISM PROBLEMS

Abstract. The author considers some textual problems associated with the poem about St. Isaac’s Cathedral by O. E. Mandelstam, in particular, the problems of dating, the correlation between two editions of the poem, the history of their creation, emphasizes alternative versions in textological commentaries, conducts their critical analysis, puts forward her own hypothesis, and touches upon the problem of multi-variations as a specific feature of Mandelstam’s poetics.
