RIVERS AND LAKES ETYMOLOGY OF THE TYOSHA RIVER RIGHT-BANK TERRITORY IN NIZHNY NOVGOROD REGION

Abstract. The article considers the names of rivers, lakes, ravines, gullies, peaks, and reveals their origin by the comparative analysis with the languages ??of aboriginal inhabitants of this territory, primarily of the Mordovians (Moksha and Erzya inhabitants). The most typical in structure hydronyms groups, consisting of both one Finno-Ugric root, as well as of several stems, including the addition of the Russian language components, are revealed.
