FORMATION OF FRENCH FOOTBALL TERMS DERIVATIVES BY FOREIGN LANGUAGE STEM IN THE XX TH CENTURY

Abstract. The article reveals the mechanism of one of the major tendencies in the French football terminology evolution, namely the tendency of terms derivatives by foreign language stem. The study is based on the theory of word-formation series. The selected range of word-formative series types shows some tendencies in their structure, as well as the compatibility of word-formative formants with the specific types of deriving stems.
