STRATEGY OF POWER RETENTION IN GERMAN POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article reveals the main trends of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s speech behaviour by the material of political interview, describes the dominant strategies and tactics that allow the politician to hold the leading positions in the country, and determines the argumentative models, language features and speech markers typical of politician’s idiostyle.
