CULTURAL MODEL OF LYCANTHROPY IN FANTASY NOVELS ABOUT WOLFHOUND BY M. SEMENOVA

Abstract. The article is devoted to the functions of the ancient cultural model of lycanthropy in the author’s model of fantasy. The text analysis shows that a hero-man gradually "merges" with his zoomorphic hypostasis in the course of plot development, keeping the functions of a defender of the weak and fighting against evil. The conclusion about the positive semantics of lycanthropy in the novels of M. Semenova is made.
