INTERTEXT OF LEGEND ABOUT DR. FAUST IN FOLKLORE AND LITERARY INTERPRETATIONS IN V. S. VYSOTSKII’S LYRICS

Abstract. The article is an intertextual analysis of several songs and lyrical poems by V. S. Vysotskii. The main object of the research is an intertext of the legend about Dr. Faust in the lyrics of V. S. Vysotskii. The sources used in the legend are a folk book about Faust, "Faust" by C. Marlowe, and "Faust" by J. F. Goethe. The similarity with the prototexts is revealed in the motives of repentance, fear and rebellion in the late lyrics, the images of evil forces in "The Song about the Devil" as well as in the plot of the song "The Horizon".
